The Records Division maintains all files and enters reports into databases. The lobby at the police department serves as the first point of contact for anyone entering the building. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. The lobby staff provides public services such as limited criminal history checks, serial motor checks, fingerprinting, notary services, and clearance letters. You can reach the Records Division at (812) 349-3320.

To request arrest records or other public records, download the Public Access Request Form from the website and submit it to the department. The department provides arrest and daily log information upon request. Limited criminal history checks are available in person only during business hours.

Under Indiana Code 35-38-9, some arrest and conviction records in Bloomington can be sealed through expungement. If arrested but never charged, you may petition after one year.
