Anderson Arrest Records

Police records can be requested in person or by filling out the Record Request Form and either emailing it to apdrecords@cityofanderson.com or printing it out and mailing it to APD Records, 1040 Main Street, Anderson, IN 46016. The fillable PDF form is available on the city website.
The fee schedule for Anderson arrest records is detailed:
- Incident report copies: Free to victims; $8.50 for all other parties
- Accident report copies: Free to involved parties; $8.50 for others
- Record checks: $5.00
- Fingerprint cards: $10.00
- FOIA material cost: $0.50 per page or per CD
- FOIA minimum charge: $20.00
If the estimated total cost is $20 or more, the fee must be deposited in advance with a cashier's check or money order. You must have a signed consent form from the person the record check is for, or show a photo ID if you are getting a check on yourself.
Note: Gun permit processing ends at 3:45 PM, before the general 5 PM closing time.
Anderson Criminal Investigations
The Criminal Investigations Division handles all detective work for the Anderson Police Department. The main line is (765) 648-6730. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 11 PM. Detectives are on call for nights and weekends.

Madison County Sheriff Records
The Madison County Sheriff's Office is at 720 Central Avenue, Anderson, IN 46016. Phone: 765-646-9290. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. Arrive before 3:30 PM. Records requests can be submitted by fax, email, or in person. Background checks are $3, in-person only with photo ID. Crash reports cost $8 or can be purchased online.

Anderson Court Records Search
Criminal cases from Anderson arrests go to Madison County courts. Search for free on MyCase. Anderson Municipal Court handles city fines at 601 South Main Street, the Municipal Business Center. The ISP criminal history service runs statewide checks for $15 per name.
Under Indiana Code 35-38-9, some Anderson arrest records can be sealed through expungement. Not every case qualifies. Contact an attorney or the Madison County court clerk for guidance.
