Wabash County Sheriff Booking Records

The Wabash County Sheriff's Office is the primary law enforcement agency for the county. The sheriff manages the jail and processes booking records for all arrests. Deputies patrol the county, and the Wabash City Police Department covers the city of Wabash. Both agencies bring arrested individuals to the county jail for processing.

Each booking record includes the person's name, charges, date of arrest, and bond amount. These records are public under Indiana's Access to Public Records Act (IC 5-14-3). You can request copies by contacting the sheriff's office by phone, in person, or by mail. A small copy fee may be charged for printed records.

Wabash County is a mid-sized rural county. The jail handles a moderate number of bookings and typically houses inmates who are awaiting court dates or serving short sentences. For people sentenced to longer terms, they are transferred to the Indiana Department of Correction.

The city of Wabash holds the distinction of being the first electrically lighted city in the world, but the sheriff's office is focused on present-day law enforcement and jail operations. The department's records division can help you find specific booking information if you have a name and approximate arrest date.

Note: Wabash County does not maintain a publicly accessible online jail roster on its own website. You will need to use the state portal or contact the jail directly.
